Plagiarism Detection

The College uses the TurnItIn Plagiarism detection software. This allows departments to submit pieces of coursework to check for evidence of plagiarism.

To request access to the TurnItIn service (without using the VLE integration – see below), you need to contact Sarah Cowls in the Council Secretariat.

There is comprehensive online support about using the service on the TurnItIn website.

Using TurnItIn via the Virtual Learning Learning Environment.

If you use the Virtual Learning Environment to run an online course area you can use the TurnItIn service through the VLE without the need to apply separately for access to Turnitin.

You can find specific documentation about using Turnitin through Blackboard on the Turnitin website. Here you will find manuals for instructors and students.
