We’ve joined ALT…
We’ve joined the Association for Learning Technology as an organisational member, so everyone at QM gets some benefits.
ALT is the primary professional and scholarly association for learning technology in the UK (see their website here). They also run the biggest annual conference about all matters e-learning, ALT-C, which is running this September in Nottingham. A few people from QM go each year, and it’s worth either attending or submitting a paper or presentation if you want to get further involved in the e-learning community in UKHE (the deadline for submissions is the 1st of March). Members of ALT (now everyone at QM) get a reduction on the price of the conference of about 20%.
We also now have access to the research and good practice journal, ALT-J. Hard copies will available to browse in the E-Learning Studio (3rd Floor, Francis Bancroft Building, Mile End). Online access will come through soon and I’ll write a post on how to access it.
I’ll use this blog to relay any interesting ALT events or updates. Remember, too, not to join ALT as an individual member, and not to pay full price for any events – your organisational membership covers all membership benefits and discounts for all events.
