Studio

The Distance and E-Learning Unit run an E-Learning Studio on the Mile End Campus which offers a comfortable and well resourced area for staff to come in and work on e-learning projects.
The Studio provides staff the (free) use of various technologies to support their use of technology in education. The room can also be booked for training events related to the use of technology to support teaching and learning. There are comfortable chairs where you can sit and read (and free coffee). There is a small library of relevant and recommended reading materials. There is also a small annex room which is ideal for creating podcasts or screencasts or taking part in video-conferencing. This might be particularly useful if you work in a shared office.
Examples of some of the things that you might use the E-Learning Studio for are:
- Trying out an interactive whiteboard (or data visualiser, or video camera)
- Running a Departmental e-learning “away day”
- Editing some video or audio
- Producing a podcast or screencast
- Trying out the built-in lecture capture system
