20 August 2010 VLE Offline for Rollover 23rd-27th August

Dear Users,
As stated previously, the VLE will be offline next week for Rollover. Rollover is an annual process that takes place at the same time each year. Essentially it is our opportunity to ‘clean’ the system and ready it for next year.

3 August 2010 Problem with Blackboard log in on SMD Education web page

There is currently a problem with the Blackboard login box on the School of Medicine and Dentistry web pages (http://www.smd-edu.qmul.ac.uk/). While this problem persists, the standard College Blackboard entry page on http://www.elearning.qmul.ac.uk/ should be used to access the system.

28 July 2010 Server offline on Saturday 31/07/10 9am-2pm

Dear Users,
We’ve been notified that there will be an interruption to the power supply to the servers on Saturday morning. Staff will be onsite to ensure that servers are shutdown and brought up again safely. But this will mean an interruption to service.

21 July 2010 VLE disruption 6:45 to 9:00am on Weds the 28th

Dear Users,
Due to ongoing works to upgrade the VLE hardware over the summer period the VLE will experience periods of extended disruption from 6:45am and 9:00am on Wednesday the 28th.
You are advised against creating any work on the VLE during this time as it may not be saved.

17 July 2010 Blackboard offline 8-9am UK time, 20th July 2010

There will be a short period of down time between 8-9am on the 20th July for essentail technical work.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Blackboard will be offline during this period for scheduled work on the live database server.
This is essential work to prepare the application for the introduction of server clustering, which will further improve the performance and stability of the platform.
Apologies for any inconvenience this short interruption may cause.
